Just as there are good dogs and bad dogs, the same goes for cats, or even squirrels. The best pet I ever had was a cat. It was sometimes difficult to know whether I was the cat's human, or if he was my cat, but we were buddies. If I was working on a project in my shop, or building on the house, the cat was there supervising. If I was sitting in my chair reading the paper, he was right there in my lap. Even at night if he wasn't out hunting, he had to sleep right between my legs. The saddest day of my life was when we had to have him put down.

Not true. Properly prepared they are fantastic. They have to be a mouser not a can fed house cat...

i have a relative that has several small house dogs, and they
all have different "fashion" collars, and clothing that they get
dressed up in, and they get "kissed" by licking in the mouth.
i mentioned some time back that animals use their tongue for
toilet paper, and that every time that one of those dogs stuck
their tongue in the mouth that it was similar to one sticking
their tongue up the dog's rectum.

a similar anecdote:
i helped move a washer (or dryer- i forgot which) some time
ago in a house where the owner had several cats. when we
got the old appliance moved away from the wall, there was
old dried cat poop stacked up level with the back of the top
of the appliance where the cats had hung their butt over the
back of the appliance and let the turds fly.
that could have been a hellacious fire, at
the very least it had to smell pretty bad every day.

all this goes ^ ^ ^ with my observations about folks
these days being more nasty than folks from years back
and poor hygiene and not washing after urinating, etc.

one more similar hijack:
i heard last night on the radio that recent tests show that
these Uber cars have 35,000 more germs on board than
the nastiest cab running today. that's gotta be nasty,
because the last cab i was in here smelled like a basket
of dirty socks and underwear with a full ashtray dumped in.

Well sadly folks that only have 1 or 2 cats let them out from time to time, and at night.

Its beyond me, but they think it ok to do that.
Because of that I have to watch my two dogs when their in the front yard to keep them from eatin cat crap, or rolling in it.
On the up side, I keep my cat trap baited, and it hunts 24/7.

I suspect if I lived next door to the cat couple in this thread, I'd have to buy cheap cat food 2 cases at a time, instead of one.

What always gets me is a dog will crap pee and lick his self all over then some very cute young thing picks it up and kisses it on the mouth and says how sweet you are , no thanks and they get upset from some guy chewing tobacco and wonts to give them a kiss.

Yeah, I had to break my dogs from wanting to lick. If I wanted spit on me, I'd spit on myself.
