When the police tell you to stay back or vacate the area. There should only one thing you do and that is comply. As you can see these idiots decided it was best to rush at a police officer. They got what they deserved and hopefully all the police officer receives is some additional training.

Not exactly an Einstein...rushing an armed police officer. He had fair warning wouldn't listen, and played a stupid game. He is probably fortunate that he was not more seriously injured.

..Besides, I can't generate a great deal of respect for the intelligence of anyone, who doesn't know enough to keep his pants pulled up here they belong.

The dude got to within arms reach after repeatedly being told to stay back. However they don't have to comply with any police commands.....Obama taught them that!

At that juncture, the police dictate how close they will allow anyone to approach them. I can recall the same thing when those protesters got themselves shot at Kent State.

At work the next day, a young fellow (college student) started to condemn the NG.

I told him, "we can settle the question right now, were they told to HALT...and did they ?" From what I understand, they were clearly told to HALT !

If anybody is at fault, it may be the dead student's parents, who must not have told them about respecting authority, or following directions.

Another day in the hood. Looks like these officers had been there before, on a shots being fired call .

Quickly got the trouble makers corralled, and when threat assessment was lowered, the shotguns were put up.

Great job, by police of diffusion of a situation.

the rule of safe engagement distance is 21 feet....closer than that and you are not going to have time to react if they rush you...but you'll never hear that in the major media. inside of that radius, if you commit any act of agression toward a cop(or anyone else, for that matter) you deserve what you get!
