Cessna Skymaster. Not common. This one at a local fly in yesterday. Not to efficient. 160mph cruise speed but using 22gals an hour at that speed.

Yup, got a few hours in these in the RVN. The AF used them as spotters for the fast movers like we used the L19 Bird Dogs. I did my first Zero G maneuver in one... And it was on purpose!

Richard,

Was that like "Let's get out of Dodge, NOW? As in taking a lot of small arms ground fire.

On a piece of C-ration cardboard at Khe Sanh 1968: "For those who fight for it, Freedom has a flavor the protected never know" Author unknown.

We provided air cover for one once. But I never saw it out on a ship ,couple of our jets were already in the area on a sortie the ground troops requested. The little plane spotted the enemy location.
Stupid NVA shooting at it only told our pilots where they were lol. Can we say Napalm.
One pilot said when he got back, that little airplane makes for good bait fish.
