Well me, an axe, and a chainsaw got reacquainted this morning.

Sharpened my 100 year old axe head last week. Don't know why, but I'm glad I did.

Sharpened the chainsaw this mornin.

Mule came in handy to.

Rufus supervised.

Round the corner about a 60 year old sycamore is in the road taking powerlines with it.

went by the cemetery today to place a few flowers.
there's big big old oaks uprooted as if the green giant
pulled 'em up for fun. big big limbs broken off that
are min. 12 inches up to about 24 inches through.
saw several that must weigh half a ton, just a limb.
i couldn't help but wonder who would be responsible
for all the damaged monuments.
it's a big time major mess here.
at least the power is on again. there are some that
were out for nearly a week. they'd brought power
crews from several states away to help. it's usually
us that send crews out to help.
over 300,000 out of power at first.
mine was off only about 8 hours.

No power loss on my street, just the power line going to the house where the tree was located

Crushed his chain link fence.

Linemen said there were 5 big trees down on power lines in town.

should have also mentioned
there's some folks running around in the
wee hours dumping their cut brush at random
in other folk's yards.
the lady across the way has several large pieces of
cottonwood that someone cut and dumped, and she
doesn't even have any trees of any kind on her property.

the brush pile i made was knocked over and scattered
by the trash pickers stirring through looking for any
scrap metal. they could have at least put it back halfway
decent after they looked, but just left it all scattered around.

there's a-holes everywhere you look

Sounds like the storm we had on March 13th. Still repairing and digging out from that one.
Any reports on what the wind speed was?

Up on the north side of the metro, we didn't have those strong winds. We probably didn't have over 40 mph winds. We DID have a lot of lightning, thunder, and rain.

Hope all those affected can recover quickly.

Springtime in Texas....

Well, I'm north of Dallas, and the big winds were spotty.

We're probably pretty close... we're on the east side of Allen.
