Default college admission scandel

Well, the first punishment has been handed down . Huffman gets 14 days in prison . Did she get preferential treatment or did the crime match the time ?

First offense. No victims. I don't see a problem.

I'm like Uncle Joe:

No hard time for non-violent (first?) offenders.

I would support a long community service sentence as a prison worker, a fine and a suspended sentence contingent on performing the community service and no repeat offence.

What good is it to have her locked up for two weeks? What if she is attacked by a violent offender? That's not justice.

She's going to the same prison Martha Stewart did 5 months in.

All things considered white collar crime is far more damaging to the fabric of society, also in monetary terms, than any blue collar crimes.

There are 40 + more people involved , I am curious if they all get a similar sentence . The Judge has set a precedent now .

Oh yeah, that Martha Stewart. What a danger to society.

Surely there is an on-going callousing of society by comparison to the horrific crimes we've seen committed in Government where NO ONE is accused, NO ONE is tried, NO ONE goes to prison. Fourteen days in the slammer isn't "play time", but is survivable. I have never been to jail and as close as I can imagine would be the first 2 "**** weeks" of Basic Training in US military service. I doubt she will be comparably "exercised" or brain washed in those 14 days.

Still, for "the little people" with something to lose, the stigma remains to be lived down, ignored as "rich life" goes on, or perhaps the repercussions from Society will outlast the sentence, but I kind of doubt it.

I recall a term we used to employ in the Army..namely, RHIP ! Rank Has It's Privileges !! Apparently, so do celebrities and politicians..

Since white collar financial crimes should not be prosecuted for first offence, why did Bernie Madof get many years? What will be served by that?

And Martha Stewart, surely she should not have been slammered!..What do Bernie and Marths share in common..very little, except they crossed up

somebody with more "pull" than they possessed.

I am watching closely, the business with the Mueller fiasco..if Comey, Brennan, Strozk or Clinton don't wear either stripes or orange..that should be a clue !

What about Ole Joe Biden using his position during his time as VP to extort favors ($$$$$$$$$) for his son and himself by threatening to cancel foreign aid to Ukraine if his demands weren't met. And I'm thinking that Hitlary Clinton did some things that should land her behind bars.

Anyway, I couldn't care less who, or what wealthy people do with their money to get their kids into this, or that college. At least I don't care enough about it to want to waste two cents of taxpayer money slapping them on the wrist over it. If it's a state supported school, fire the administrators who are involved. If it's a private school that gets any tax support, stop the support.

The stupid idea that any non-violent crime should not bring prison time is nuts. Burglary, embezzlement, counterfeiting, drug peddling, smuggling, treason and on and on are "non-violent", but should at least be punished with prison time, or hanging.

Those are non-violent crimes with victims.
