Default Riding the trails.

We live close to several of the old west trails. Here is where the Chisholm and Santa Fe Trails cross about 20 miles NNW of my house.

I wasn't aware that the Chisholm trail went quite that far north. Were they driving cattle to Omaha or KC ?

Oops! I guess I could have looked it up earlier..destination, Abilene. Gen Eisenhower grew up in Abilene.

Is there an Eisenhower museum or library there, and if so, have you visited it ?

Thanks for the compliment George!
IG, Yes, the SF Trail ended in Abilene which would be about another 40 miles north of where I took the pictures. I haven't been to the Eisenhower Museum since I was a kid. Been thinking of going back recently. Need to do that.

I have had many comments about "Nice looking BMW." I then have to point out that the jugs don't sag. LOL.

We have had a lot of rain this summer which has frustrated the riding. Since I live three miles off pavement maybe freezing weather will solidify the mud and make it easier to get to pavement but by then I would probably be frozen to death.

Three miles on a dirt road with a white motorcycle! Bad combo unless you enjoy washing your cycle! What model and year is your bike if you don't mind my asking Guzzi?
