Default Mother Nature is a contrary b----old woman

We got .3" of rain in August when some would have helped. Now that the farmers are busy harvesting it's raining cats and dogs. This is the second thunderstorm of the day and it rained some before the first and continued to rain lightly until this one started up. Dry land farmers didn't do too hot this year but better than last year when it was total bust. Insurance doesn't pay that well. Irrigated stuff made good of course but you need to get it out of the field. The price for dingy cotton and moldy milo and peanuts isn't good at all.

Farmers are a month behind in the midwest too. Last year the corn was all out by muzzleloader season in the middle of October. They are just finishing up the beans and now moving to corn.

Lots of rain, harvest has been over since the 1st of September, and winter wheat is planted, and showing a little green in the rows.

A lot of the farmers are trying to get their beans done and some are onto corn. 6 inches of snow today in south central WI is going to put a stop on bean harvest. The fields are so wet the only ones making money are the wreckers and backhoes pulling out stuck combines. Just outside of town this morning there was a combine stuck in the mud head all the way up in the mud. Hooked to it was an 8000 something JD stuck with a tight cable between. And the price of beans fell 3 cents. Average day in the life of a farmer. My dad said once if he won the lottery he'd just keep farming till it's gone.
