Default shaving, heads up.

Heads up on shaving. I went back to the old brush and cup of shaving soap. best shave I've had in years. razors last longer, face feels cleaner, cheaper. and brush with soap in just rite for cleaning glasses. so I can see how close a shave I got.

I've been using that method for quite sometime now. I had skin cancer surgery on my neck week before last so switched back to an electric shaver until the stitches come out next Monday and I can go back to the brush and blade. It sure will feel nice to have a smooth, close, shave again.

And here I thought it was no shave November! It's hunting season and I have done nothing more than trim whiskers the last few weeks.

i had the problem of scarcity of affordable shaving soap a while
back. i couldn't see paying several dollars for a single bar of
boutique trendy shaving soap.
i solved that by buying up what i could find when i found a place
that carried the affordable williams soaps. if they had ten, i bought ten.

I had to order the last batch of shaving soap. Walgreens used to sell it then they quit too.
I still use a brush made in Israel of all places in hog bristle. It's at least 50 years old and is getting mighty short.

Didn't we all go through all the various ways of shaving or not shaving, straight razor, single edge, double edge, rotary, foil, multi heads, floating heads, etc.?
Anyone use a straight razor?
best wishes

how about olive oil? cheap safe used from time immemorial for everything. I use rubbing alcohol 50 percent and have the best results with electric.

I gave up shaving off my beard when I found that there were far more scroungy people than me making a good living in computers. In that industry gray hair is worse that a beard.

These days I'm self employed and semiretired so I can pretty much do as I please. I tend to let my beard grow until it annoys me than I prune it back to about 1/2" long. I was getting to this point when my granddaughter begged me to let my beard grow until after Christmas. Now I have a more or more of Santa Clause jokes to deal with...

I have the Santa laugh down to where kids and even mom's will look and wonder, it's a blast this time of year.
