Default Gave My 2 Weeks Notice. AGAIN!

Well, I only work 3 days a week, but floor sales took a 25% salary cut in the teeth startin March 1st. And put on 10% commission off the front.
Problem is, 10% of nothing, is nothing.
The base salary was if you don't make commission, and with Harley Davidson stock, and sales way down, and with prices goin up, comission has been tuff on everybody.
I'm gonna fish instead. No pressure in catfishin.

well, there is that pressure of which bait.
I like to use night crawlers or livers, but some suggest that cut bait is best.
I don't lose sleep over it though.

Yeah, I think cut bait is best, but more trouble to catch sometimes.

Did they give you two weeks notice on the pay change? If not and I were in your shoes I would have given them until the day it took effect and if it was immediate I would have just said “bye” and headed out the door.

Enjoy the fishing. It’s still a bit too cool and way too windy for it to be be enjoyable here on the western edge of the caprock. My trash cart blew over a little while ago and it was full.

The new mgr gave us all 3 weeks notice, and ask me what I thought of the idea.
I told him it wouldn't work for me.
So here we are.
It starts week after next, so next Saturday is my last day.

Yes sir, fishing over dealing with people any day of the week. I could not be a salesman for any amount of time these days, but I could fish until I'm blue in the face!

A couple of old coots like myself said that they would show me where the good holes were in the Nishnabotna River in Western Iowa! They told me to get a kayak and they would take me. I might ues a flat bottom john boat instead. Those kayaks are about one step better than floating the river on a old car hood.

I’ve been doing my fishing at Charlie’s fish market in crystal river since I retired & moved back home. The family voted me no going out alone in boats. And I love me some grouper fillets and the grouper fillets at Charlie’s are fresh off the boats at the dock behind his fish market.

I never get skunked now. Charlie’s is my best fishing hole.

Lake or river?

On a lake try one quarter "pool noodle" used as a float, over a 1/2 oz. sinker, over a circle hook, and cut bait cast netted there. Toss out a half dozen, sit back, and watch till one or more are "dancing" and moving around.

Taught-line (Set) fishing in a river (if legal) is interesting too. Anchor one end on the "right bank". Weigh down two places to keep the line at the bottom of the channel " \_____/". Anchor the other end on the "left bank". The number of hooks depends on the width of the channel. Use cut bait. Make three, four, five "Sets". Catch enough in a morning to have a real fish fry - if they are biting.

course, these methods are not so satisfying as holding the rod and feeling every bite...
