Good luck with your VA appointment.

Couple of nice pictures. Have to admit the second one is more interesting than the first!

Ironglow. I love areas like that. As an 18 year old kid I worked at a Dairy farm in Upstate NY and hunted and fished the Northern Tier all through High School. I went to the University of Maine, Orono for a while. Back In March of '88, I came to the U.P. to band Hawks and Owls at Whitefish Point Bird Observatory during Spring Migration. I loved It! Very much like Maine and Northern N.Y. Two years later Patty and I moved here. Small woodland falls abound in Alger County an hour north west of us and the larger Upper and Lower Tahquamenon Falls are about an hour North East of us.

My VA clinic is in Sault Ste. Marie, about 65 miles one way. The VA Hospital in Iron Mountain is 145 miles one way.

The Moral Of The Story is: Stay Well my friend!

.
That falls is located in the SW corner of Wyoming county, NY. There is a country road that goes by about 30 yards off the model's right shoulder.

One could drive that road and not even know the falls are thereby. and folks who do not know of the falls do drive right by.

I am pleased that you guys enjoyed the pics.. So far as my VA appt. I have a touch of the big "C" where all guys will get it if they live long enough.

My oncologist will look again in 3 mos, and decide if we do something then.

Keep your chin up, Brother. That's one you can beat or live with. I had tumors in my thigh and groin. Operated on in Florida in '90, came back again in '95. Had it out again at Marshfield Clinic, Wisconsin in '95...been cancer free since. I think if it had been Marshfield the first time, it wouldn't have been back. If you will need surgery, get the best. We'll Pray.

With all of us at least 40 miles from a VA Hospital we are eligible for what the VA calls Tri care I just had both hands operated on for Carpo Tunnel One done on 30 Jan and the other one 4 weeks ago all in Tulsa In place of Muskogee and the VA pays the bill done at one of the large hospitals in Tulsa in place of the VA. Reported in at 5 AM got prepped and wheeled in to The OR and was in recovery for a hour and on my way home by 9. But I had to have a driver with a good car to take me and see me home. Stopped at IHOPS for breakfast and then home. All you men need to check in to this program and they treated me great also. The doctors are much younger and most of the nurses are young and pretty and treat us old warriors great like their would their own grandfather or in my case their great grandfather. SMILE Your VA doctor will need to send your case to Tri Care to be processed but that does not take long usually done over the prone at least mine was.
