I seldom judge gunfights, or street fights through news media reports.
As a 21 year police veteran (retired) I am not big on armchair quarterbackin tha po-leece.
BUT!!!! I watched a Minneapolis police officer spend almost 10 minutes with his knee on the neck of a cuffed prisoner using all his weight.
This prisoner was not resisting, and I personally heard him on the audio say: "officer I can't breath".
He!l no he can't breathe you dumbass, you need a little of that before they lock you up for murder.
There were 4 officers on scene. SURELY, one of those 4 should have put a stop to that.
Arrest the other 3 for assessors to the murder.
Even a 1 day rookie should know better than sh!t like that.
When they fired him, they should have cuffed him. He killed the guy on national TV.
To George Floyd's family from a retired police officer, that is proud of my profession.
I sincerely hope you get the justice you deserve, and am sorry for your loss.
The officer was applying extra judicial punishment which was not his right. Don't know why. He needs to explain and defend his actions. I can't imagine the reasoning but he will get his day. Not so much for George.
In the meantime the native Minnesotans are burning and looting a Target store. Not sure why Target deserves looting. They didn't kill George. But you can be **** well sure no police officer will do anything to stop them.
If you can talk, you can breathe. I'll wait on the autopsy report for the official cause of death to see if it is attributed to strangulation, excited delirium, drug toxicity, cardiac, or other issues. I'm tired of the media showing only what they want us to see, hearing false cries of racism, and the court of public opinion playing judge, jury, and executioner.
The autopsy results are in and Floyd didn't die of strangulation or asphyxia. Seems his underlying cardiac condition and drug toxicity played a role. THAT is why you don't put the cart before the horse and stir the pot. You let the facts emerge instead of accusing people of breaking necks, strangling, and murdering people.
.
I tend to agree with all of you guys, it sure looks like the police are using excessive force and are guilty as can be, but of course, the justice system must take it's course.
People were well within their rights and certainly correct in demanding justice...but why did RIOTING start as quickly as the justified calls for 'justice" began?
Did Target store help kill the man? Did the burning Auto Zone store, help in the crime? I doubt those two stores had anything to do with the crime?
Concerning the demonstration, it is kind of like the kid that gets mad, can't take it out directly on what made them mad so end up breaking their own toy. The frustration level of case after case of police brutality upon the black community with little or no consequences for the out of control officers is becoming great and with reason IMHO. Blacks do not appear to get justice through the court or political system much of the time so demonstrating which sometime turns into rioting is the result. Does that help explain it IG.

I can understand the frustration..especially in this case. The man was in handcuffs, and didn't need to be hammered. However, I still don't understand the burning and looting, which look more like opportunists in the arson and theft community. I wouldn't approve such actions from my own children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren. I would first dress them out thoroughly, then turn them in to the authorities ! It happened in a black community, will Target or Auto Zone rebuild there? They say other businesses are even now burning, will that neighborhood remain with many empty lots?
I can recall when a riot started somewhere (Ferguson?)..where an irate mother came right into the boiling riot and retrieved he son, giving him a "whopping', even as she drove him home! There is a mother who has a better chance of raising amore responsible son !
I am pleased that our president has raised his voice, and immediately placed federal authorities on the case.
That’s the excuse. The reason for their behavior is much more simple than that; it’s their nature. Some people build and innovate, other know only to destroy. This issue is 100% genetic.
Rather than address the problem in a rational fashion, politicians and the (((media))) pass the blame and treat the symptoms.
I'm seeing the same theme in many large urban areas with large minority populations. Not sure what you call it but the police seem to be handcuffed by popular opinion. Definitely not a clear cut job for them. We all need to realize the complexity that race relations adds to their everyday job duties. When an instance of excessive force occurs the remainder of the force becomes rendered impotent while they deal with the outfall.
I don't believe the entire black community is under duress by the police. I've delt with black communities, and while they have their trouble makers, welfare bums, ect. They usually as a whole want law and order.
This clown with a uniform will get what he has coming.
HE IS THE EXCEPTION, NOT THE RULE.
As for the looters, rioters, arsonists, and thieves, they always show up for "the party".
I doubt that any of "the party goers" have a clue who George Lloyd was, nor do they care.
Watch the crowds and these folks will be seen laughing, showing off, and stealing.
"HE IS THE EXCEPTION,NOT THE RULE." So very true however he has tainted the whole purpose of law enforcement and all of the good cops will suffer scrutiny for what this bozo has done. I say turn him over to the mob!
I’m not sure he will get anything except fired. I watched a video on tv of three cops in our state’s largest city arresting a homeless man that was complying with their orders shoot him dead on the spot and he wasn’t even close enough to be a threat. The next day the video was edited to delete the shooting which was out right murder in my book. The two that fired the shots were eventually charged with murder, tried, and aquitted. If he and any of the of the others involved in this are are ever charged and tried doesn’t mean they will be convicted.
The officer either knew or should have known.... exactly what he was doing. Applying a Carotid artery choke technique.
AKA the sleeper hold. Yes, you can still talk while being choked out with this method. Been there, done that.
The officers other knee looks to be on the black dudes lower back, compressing the abdominal zone, making it even harder to breath.
Liquid pooled under the cop car may have been from the guy peeing his pants. Another sign of distress.

Thanks for weighing in as a LAW ENFORCEMENT PROFESSIONAL. I agree with the "HE IS THE EXCEPTION, NOT THE RULE." it is truly unfortunate for the many, many fine officers who serve justly and proudly. I salute you and all men and women in uniform.
.
It is clear, we as a people should stand united against this hooliganism. Being upset.... and destroying , and burning property are two very different things. Those bad actors should be prosecuted to the full extent !
The thugs are taking attention away from the real problem. The public attention is now on the criminal actions, rather than on the case of George Floyd!
Yeah your right. Layin on your stomach with your hands pinned behind your back, and 200 pounds plus of knee on your neck, and body, should not have any adverse effects at all. 😉
I too, have "underlying health issues".
The same treatment of me, would likely have stressed my already stressed system and caused it to fail.
I don't know how many folks I arrested in 21 years. Some were real terrors, but once the fighting is done, and the cuffs go on, there's no place for Floyds treatment.
If you think what that officer did was ok, I hope nobody gives you a badge.
I believe chauvin is more than likely guilty of at least manslaughter, but he is not going to get a fair trail Like Mohamed Noor did. Chauvin is facing a lynching.
In 1930, a black farm hand by the name of George Hughes raped the wife of a white farmer in Grayson County Texas.
He was described as crazy by others, was arrested, and he confessed.
A mob of over 2,000 white men assembled on the courthouse square and demanded the sheriff turn him over to the lynch mob.
Governor Dan Moody sent Texas Ranger Frank Hamer and two other Rangers to guard the prisoner along with the Sheriff.
They locked the prisoner (Hughes) in the records vault to keep the mob from getting at him if they failed.
When the mob started up the stairs, they told Hamer they were takin his prisoner.
Hamer told the mob, that if they tried: "They'll be some cheap funerals in Sherman tomorrow".
When they called his bluff, they found out Hamer wasn't bluffing. He cut two men down on the stairs with a shotgun.
The mob retreated, and set the bottom floor on fire, and the Sheriff, and Rangers had to jump out of the windows.
The fire dept showed up, and the mob cut the hoses.
The courthouse burned killing Hughes in the safe.
He was then taken out of the safe, and dragged behind a car to the black part of town, hung in a tree, and set on fire, along with a black grocery store.
He didn't get much of a trial either.
All the mob participants by the way, were white.
Do I have a point?
Watch the news! Better than half of every mob, in every riot, in every major city. IS WHITE!!!
I don't claim whites don't riot; the bolshevic party have millions of tame, self loathing whites (wegros) that do their bidding. It's more a case of an event where a white is the victim does not cause a riot. If it's a black is the victim the world goes up in flames.
This is an attempt to destroy the US economy by democrats and the (((media))). No more, no less.
A knee in the neck like the man endured for 8 minutes could also cause issues with the vertebral artery(arteries) and the circle of Willis which in addition to the corotids supply blood to the brain.
I’ll make an offer. I’ll pay the expenses of any single person who doesn’t think that Chauvin killed this guy. I’ll pay all your and my expenses. We will fly to a city of choice near Dee. He can witness the experiment to which you must submit to participate. I weigh 195 lb. and I’m relatively strong. You get to be cuffed and I’ll thrust 75% of my weight through my left knee onto the center of your cervical spine. The other 25% of my body weight will be directed over thoracic vertebrae 12. You will get a break that Floyd didn’t get. I’ll only apply pressure for 7’45”.
Any takers just let me know.
