Default Remember Normandy.

76 years ago today. It lives in our minds forevermore, but not in everyone's now days. There are those who couldn't even tell you what it was all about, or where it is. Usually, the can't read an analog clock generation.

Unhappy i had an uncle who survived

the Normandy invasion. he passed on a few short years ago at age 83.

he did not talk about it until shortly before he passed on. when he did talk of it, it was with tears in his eyes and a quiver in his voice.

lead, follow, or get out of the way!

Thank you to all military personnel. Your sacrifices are enormous.

I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.

A cousin of my father (both Scottish) was in the invasion even though he was technically too young (17) when they landed he got out on the wrong side of the landing craft, his unit was all killed by a shell on the "right" side of the boat...
