Default 70gr(volume) of BH 209

I hope 70gr(volume) of BH 209 behind a 260gr Scorpion PT Gold will have enough energy for a clean kill at a maximum range of 100yrds. This is the load that seems to group the best so far, I am getting a 2 inch group at that range and don't have much more time for the range before deer season.

What do you guys think?

Thanks for any replies.

I don't know what velocity you're getting, I would guess 1400 fps-ish. Pretty similar to a 240 gr bullet in 44 Mag from a pistol and people take deer to 100 yards with that. I think you'll be fine if you put the bullet where it needs to go.....

I was thinking the muzzle velocity should be around 1650 or slightly more but that is only a guess, I could be way off on that.

You will be in the 1525 +/-25 FPS ball park.

Out to 100 yards, it will do the job, if you do yours.
