Default Making a ML Forend

Anyone care to share their experience making a normal synthetic forend into one that can accept a ramrod for a Huntsman?

Sometime ago I saw a thread where the parts were listed. I will need those references too, especially if I can't find a factory synthetic forend.

Can this work be done with a Dremel???

Thanks, Dinny

Crap! I forgot there's a separate Huntsman subforum.

Sorry, Dinny

Did ya check with H&R for a factory synthetic Huntsman forend? That's where I got mine years ago. Comparing an old style and new style forend, it looks like the new style(bottom) would be a better donor, the old is too shallow.

Tim,
I'll take the middle one! Just kidding. I'll call H&R tomorrow.

Thanks, Dinny

You should be able to make one with a dremel to trim out the partitions and make the opening below the barrel channel at the end, then all you need is a piece of clockwork spring from an old wind-up toy to make the rod retainer.

Rimbo and a Dremel are NOT compatible!

Now all I need is a Hubbard rod!
