Hmfh! Last post was 2012, Guess the Texicans were hunted out!

I almost was but I'm back(self imposed hiatus) Gonna hunt East and West Texas this fall and winter. We Went to junction last February and thinned the axis out there to the tune of 5 Does and 2 bucks. I'm not as mad at white tail as I used to be, but will shoot axis on site mostly due to the fact that they eat better,

Y'all have good un and write back, ya hear! ;D

or else...................

God Bless America and Donald Trump !

saw a total of 4 deer this hunt i just
came back from. unfortunately, all were
too far away for an ethical bow shot.
i might have been able to get the 1 buck
i saw if it weren't for the antler restrictions
the state forced upon us.
that was the only buck i've seen this year.
i've not found any scrapes or rubs at all.
maybe it's just late coming this year? :-\

That big block'll get out there and run a bit.
The 444 I mean, not the bike.

it'll thump on both ends.
i won't get the hee-bee jee-bees
as bad with that in hand as opposed
to a bow when i hear one of those
cats holler again. that'll sure make
your neck hair stand up.

I've seen a bobcat or two around here. Y'all got some mountain lions there?

never have seen a bobcat there (yet)
i've seen 3 big long tail panther cats
(or the same one 3 times maybe?)
and heard them a dozen or so times.
heard one a couple of days ago on the
northwest corner of my place where
the pipeline runs through about 7 am.
i've not heard one like that before. it
sounded like a woman screaming
then kinda dragged off to a low growl.
i was counting and re-counting available
arrows about 60-70 yards away. (not
that it would do me any good if one did
want a sample of me- but it was reassuring
in a small way)
the closest one was at the far end of the long
porch of my ramshackle house there, with me
on the other end. that one sounded like a
big hiss, like when you drain the condensation
out of a big shop-sized air compressor.
i lost that night's sleep over that.

i think they come up through the Neches bottoms.
it's only a few miles away.

Yeah the bobcat are pretty stealth. I've only seen one alive, twice. I'm sure it was the same one, because it was the same time of morning at the same place. Finishing up it's night.
And one bigger one, about 30 pounds, that was hit by a car.

You can't be in Grayson county cause I am, and I don't see you anywhere. 🤔
