One win for us
A minor victory possibly but a greater one really. The nyc policia or acturally, the city itself has been forced to repeal its overly restrictive policy of not allowing permit holders to transport firearms for sporting or training purposes without massive prior permission. It seems that the city realized it would lose the suit against it by the NYS rifle and Pistol Assn so it simply repealed its policy un hopes that the Supreme Court would not rule against it as in the Heller vs Washington DC case.
It seems that if the court rules against you, you are forced to change because you're bad but if you change before the court rules against you then the issue of the case becomes 'moot' and the municipality is seem as the 'good guy' doing the 'common sense' thing.
However, it might appear as though the Supreme Court will take up the case anyhow to prevent the city from doing the same again or prevent the city from opening up any loopholes it can use to further restrict firearms owners.
A small victory certainly, but a victory none the less. Just saying.
