The Chinese military will conduct large-scale landing exercises in August in the China Sea
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — On Monday (May 12) it was reported that China’s People's Liberation Army (PLA) is planning to conduct a large-scale landing exercise in August in the South China Sea with the aim of one day capturing the Taiwan-controlled Dongsha islands (Pratas Islands, 東沙群島).
The beach landing exercise will be carried out by the Southern Theater Command and will involve large numbers of marines, landing ships, hovercrafts, and helicopters: maneuvers on an unprecedented scale, according to Kyodo News.
Pic is fake, that many US Carriers would not bunch up in an easy nuclear targeted formation like that.
They don't have to.
That's how many Battle Groups, along with protective escorts? Our Navy does not spread itself thin
elsewhere by doing that. This is not WW2 thinking anymore, its strategic now.

pretty obvious the picture is fake. Not to many places in the world have a map in the sky:tango_face_wink:. Its also pretty obvious china is a real threat right now.
I cant tell what the class is of that escort vessel is. There are so many, I would have to see a side profile.
But it is a cruiser. Probably a Ticonderoga.
The U.S. has 11 carriers, but only eight are available for tasking at any given time.
Now you tell me how many Destroyers. No Ford class was in that photo.
The official answer is 2 are deployed at any one time and 3 others can be made ready within thirty days. That's been the 2+3 deployment plan for the last 20 years, so I've read. I've also seen the 8 of 11 deployable number but that doesn't seem supported by most defense experts.
The real answer to how many are deployable at this time is a controversial topic. Because of postponed maintenance, extended deployments, prolonged shipyard stays and difficulty of getting the new Ford Class carriers operational we may not meet the 2+3 standard we once had. May be a crisis in the making.
I'm as dumb as paint, but it looks to me like all the carriers are exactly alike...
Not to me. Cooling stacks are different if you can get an aft view of it. Com is different, or it's been modified.
If on deck, squadron contingent designations on the aircraft are a dead give away. So are the elevators changing the profile. Technology changes, so does the design and arrangement over time.
Heck IG knew that and he's Army. Ask him about a tank, he knows all about it.
