Dark Star Tomatoes

This last year my sister planted some tomatoes in her garden from some seed given to her by a friend. The tomatoes were dark red and green when ripe and the best tasting tomatoes I've ever had. According to my sister Kate, they are some old and nearly lost variety that her friend found and started growing. I'm getting some seeds from her and I hope to grow some of my own next year...

I got an eMail the other day from Burpee's and they're selling seeds for these as Dark Star tomatoes that look exactly like the ones from Kate's garden. They want 7 bucks for a packet of 15 seeds. I'm I just out of touch or is that highway robbery?

Anyway if you want to try some amazing tomatoes, they're worth giving a try...
