Default More Ticks...

Than deer today...

I didn't get a deer, but I got hit by 2 ticks--pulled them off before my shower...

Anyone else have problems with ticks?...

I simply can not go into the woods or fields around here without have one attach...

Sure takes the fun out of the "Great Outdoors"...

I've never found a tick on myself from just walking in the woods around here. I don't remember ever seeing one on a deer I've killed around home either, until this year. I don't know if it was on account of the warmer than average weather during the first part of our bow season, 70 degrees, but the deer I shot with my bow on October 2nd, was loaded with ticks. I picked them off myself and out of my hair for an hour after I got the deer home. I used to hunt with some friends in Bainbridge NY, and the deer there always seemed to have plenty on them, even in cold temps. I'd find them on myself occasionally after an unsuccessful hunt down there too. Nasty little buggers.

Spray your pants, socks and boots with off. I never got ticks after I started spraying.
Just don't get it on your gunstock.

Growing up in SW Pa I hardly ever saw a deer tick. Now in certain areas there are a good many.

The best product to use on clothing is a Permethrin based product. You spray it on clothing (not skin) let it dry, and its good even for a few washings. They claim up to six washings, but I never let it go more than a couple washings without retreating. Permethrin is an insecticide that will kill ticks when they crawl on you treated clothing. There would be a lot less lyme disease if more people used permethrin when out in grassy and wooded areas. Its good stuff and it works.
