been wanting to do this for a while. Had a big blue tarp that's pretty wore out. Some 10 foot 1 1/2 pvc conduit. Me & my 11 y/o son spent the afternoon building a teepee. put a small fire pit in the middle . its 32 & snowing outside. toasty warm inside. I think this is a viable option for a back country hunt. Just cut the poles on site. its ugly as a mud fence , but its keeping the weather out. plus I got my boy outside doing some cool stuff. one of the pics is me & him camped out last day of muzzleloader season. we slept under a lean to in front of a fire.

If you have watched any of Yucon men or Alaska the last frounter the men always have a tarp with them to throw up an emergency shelter Atz also cuts 3 poles and makes a portable smoker in the woods to smoke his salmon catch so there are lots of things one can do with those tarps they also use one to dress out their game to keep meat clean I don't think your teepee is ugly I think it looks great and if it is time in the woods with a son or daughter so what they love it and that is what counts. I bought my son now 60 a pup tent when he was 10 and he still has it.

The beautiful thing is, doing that stuff with your boy.
