I have a Savage 220, bolt action 20 ga, topped with a 4X12X40 Leupold Vari X 2.
As you may already know, the Savage synthetic stock for this slug gun is fairly wimpy, you can twist it by hand. My solution was to fill in everything with fiberglas resin, and AccraGlas. This stiffend the stock, but not so much that point of impact couldn't be changed with pressure, so I completely AccraGlas bedded the entire thing, action including tang, and barrel. I torqued the action screws to my own specs, (took a few ranges to discover the best accurracy setting), and this is now a 200 yard gun!
The magic load is the Remington Accutip 3", but the 2 3/4" is close enough to be substituted out to 125 yards. It shoots the 3" sub MOA, and the 2 3/4" about 2 MOA.
