I'm sure there are some/many who need the support provided by programs. However, my brother, my father-in-law, and myself all just stopped cold turkey when we each decided we needed to. I quit when I realized I had a headache each morning after I had a drink. My father-in-law quit when he had a stroke the Dr.s said was caused by his drinking (he was the town drunk). My brother, when he was told he had Cirrhosis, stopped and never had another drink. IMHO, it takes motivation and support. What those are, depends on the individual.
The actor Richard Buton died due to that after his doctors took him cold turkey. It was because he had drank for so long that when his blood thickened up he had a heart attack.
Goin cold turkey for a dedicated drunk can be fatal. For a doper, not so much.
The drunk must be weaned off of alcohol a percentage at a time.
A doper can go cold turkey with differing degrees of discomfort.
But what I don't understand here is: Why the **** do you continually to bring yours, and Davy's personal trials, and tribulations to these forums? If I were married to you, and found out, that you were posting my personal problems on the "world wide web", I would divorce you, and would run your ass off.
Davy on the other hand, has been such an ass, to so many, over the last two years almost know one is interested. You yourself, are erratic in your posting, and seem to be begging for conflict.
Have you know common sense at all, or is everything the others are saying about you true?
That last sentence is not a question looking for an answer, to anyone other than yourself
I was only sharing some information that i had found out about this condition by using my thread. I apologise if it has offended you.
And if it has why do you bother to read it? Members here disscuss their spouses with conditions all the time and i
don't see you venting at them.
Only those who disagree with you. Then you start ranting.
You really are as thick headed as winter molasses.
