CVA Hunter rifled slug gun
I have had a CVA Hunter in 450 Bushmaster for awhile (like it a lot) and was interested in getting a 20 gauge slug gun. I contacted CVA and found they were no longer in production and they didn't know where I could find one. I did a search and found a farm supply store about 45 minutes away that had one in stock. The price was right (less than 2 hundred bucks including sales tax) and I drove to the store and bought it. When I got it home I cleaned up the preservative in the bore and checked everything out, this thing has a GREAT trigger. It is relatively light and very crisp. Looking forward to shooting it. Anybody out there have a favorite (or favorites) slug? Let me know.
Congratulations on a great score! I've just recently started shooting slugs again after getting a very good deal on a Browning A-Bolt 12ga.
The slug I settled on was a Remington Premier Accutip. It's a sabot that slings a 58 cal tipped, bonded 385gr bullet at a claimed 1900FPS, providing over 3,000 FPE at the muzzle.
It is very accurate @ 100 yards out of my Browning. I caught them on sale at Midway and also got free shipping.
