Red face Michigan stay in place.

Michigan has a stay in place order in effect at 12:01 AM tonight.

First case reported in the UP Chippaw county.

TV and cell phone going bonkers. Thought it might be a tornado, but it is the Stay at Home order announcement issued as an emergency alert.

To see Executive Order 2020-12, follow the link below:

Interesting document. Carefully crafted, and there seem to be reasonable provisions for essential services and people working to provide those services.

Sure is nice of our socialist governor to allow us to go out to get food. Stupid waste of time, and more importantly a violation of our Constitutional rights. Nice of her to designate some of her subjects as "non-essential".

On top of that it's unenforceable. What are they going to do stop every car driving down the road and ask them where they're going? Why, I'll bet they're all going to the grocery store! It doesn't say what grocery store you have to go to. So if someone lives in Ironwood and decides to go to a Walmart in Detroit looking for TP that would be OK according to the wording of our dictator's executive order. But, if you and your neighbor decided to "gather" in the parking lot at McDonald's to eat lunch you'd be in violation - unless of course you both were on your way to the grocery store!

No matter what level of government is involved Democrats have proved they are pure SCUM. PURE LYING SCUM.

And that GOPUKE in Washington wants to voliote the CDC advisement to put people back to work after the state dictators have did a stay in place order in the states.

Of course it isn't enforcable it was ment to be for honest people who won't be going willie nille about taking a chance of getting the virus and spreading it if they have it. Sort of like speed limits and stop signs today.

And if some one in iron wood wants to go to detroit for some TP they will have to go thru Wisconsin and Illinois. Unless they have the special passes excepted at the bridge now.
they will not take cash nor a credit card even.

Yes dearborn is on a stay in place order. It is not a lock down ypu can go to a park go for a walk go get grocerys go to Home Depot and Menards if that place suits you better You can go get medicine, gasoline and some veggies for the dinner table. Just stauy the 6 food distance.
Wisconsin also has a stay in place order as does Indiana, Ohio New Jersey, California and Hawaii and others. Texas is on the brink.
the govners of the states are trying to flatten the curve saveing some from dieing even some from getting it.

But then those who should die don't. stay in prisons sucking money from lawful citizens.

Texas is on the brink? I didn't get that from our governor this morning.

So far Dallas County has been about the only one for stay in place.

Couldn't tell much difference today. People still driving around, going to work, etc. Know one guy who called the state police and asked about delivering construction materials, and all they said was, "hey, if you gotta work, you gotta work". Don't know what it's like in the cities, but here, nobody is paying it much attention. I did hear that they shut down some factories in the Grand Rapids area...

Had to go to town and pick up a few prescriptions for the wife today, then walked across the street to the small town grocery store for a few things. Most of the other businesses in town were closed except for the one restaurant that had a sign out front saying take out only. Gas stations and McDonald's drive thru were open. Less traffic than normal, a few people in the grocery store, not as many as a usual afternoon.

Drug store just started a new system where you have to call in your prescriptions and pay over the phone with charge card and then pick up at the door. Being a small town I'm guessing if someone didn't have a charge card they would make an exception and let them pay inside.

When I took the dog out this morning I could hear the loggers working a couple miles from us and on the way to town I could see the tracks coming out where they had been hauling logs out so I guess it's business as usual for them. Not likely to catch anything out there in the woods running a processor or skidder!

I doubt the police are going to do much enforcing of the governor's order. They probably try to limit their contact with people as much as they can just like everyone else.

Sort of surprised to find the grocery store well stocked. Only things I noticed a bit less of were eggs (still plenty, just not as big a selection) and of course the TP stock was down, but again there was plenty if someone needed a few rolls.
