Default .45 colt

I shot one of these in a handgun today and really liked it. I am now itching for this in a Henry. Can it be used for hunting? I assume so but wanted to make sure in case I jumped in and bought one.

Do you know Lee Ann Rymes? Oh wait, no it doesn't.

It is in ND. Was I in your shoes, checking the game and fish/DNR website would be a definitive answer to that question.

It is legal here in OK, I am just curious if it was lethal enough to use. I should have been more clear.

Our deer here around Norman are small enough, so shot placement would be key.

You put a slow heavy bullet in it, it will kill most north American game. You shoot it out of a Ruger with a Ruger/TC only load, you can kill anything on the planet. Lever gun will get you 200FPS or more which really ups the ante.

The 45 Colt is a good one for sure! All ya “need” is 250 or more grain bullet at about 100-1200 fps.

BUT its better still if your a hand loader. ANYWHERE a 43 Mag is used you can substitute the heavier 45 Colt.

Some research will show ya that “RUGER” level
Loads are built to less pressures than. The 43 mag but will with in 10-15% of it.

Its a good one inside 150 yards for sure! Many of us have been using it for decades.
