When I was 10, Dad told me...

"All I want is to live long enough to see you out of college and on your own. If we're lucky, I'll live that long."

He'd already lost one child (my Sister) two years earlier.

He lived until I was 37 and the day he passed I remembered what he told me when I was a boy. I didn't feel "lucky" at all. It was **** hard to see him go.

Take care Anna. Although it's small comfort and hard for us to see as a blessing, know that your Dad was happy to see you grow up to be a fine young lady who he didn't outlive. Difficult as it is for us to lose a parent, I witnessed the unbearable grief of my parents when they lost a child.

Thoughts and prayers with you and your family Anna.

I could be mistaken but somehow I always figured the Lord was doing something special when a friend or family member went home so quickly, your Dad must have been a fine man.

Just got this from ANNA this morning. She really needs our prayers and Gods strength. Charlie. .

Everyone is flying in today but its been rough dealing with
this here on the home front. Years of dealing with things like this when it was other people and I cant seem to help myself . Charlie it was me who found him he had been helping me with things around here because I was working late. It seemed like an eternity for the EMTs to arrive.
But Dad was already gone when I found him so I know it was quick for him.I didn't know what to say
to my brothers and I'm a mess anyway. But I will try to get it together and keep you informed .
Please convey my thanks to the guys for thier best wishes . Anna

Yes. I hope to live long enough to see both my daughters as adults past 30, and that'll be good.

hang in there, Anna

My condolences Ms. Anna, and my prayers. I was in the same shape when my Dad passed away, I was with him his last night on earth. He was 82, I had just turned 47, had been in minister over 13 yrs by then. As an only son, it all fell to me to take care of everything, and as a Minister I was expected to "know how to handle it". I too had a bad patch, and I was surprised at my own reaction. I tried to "suck it up", as males seem to do. I had no one to talk to, and in hind sight, I wish I had hired a Counselor. Its tough, but it can be processed. Thing about my Dad, he had always "been there" in my life; then he wasn't. Its a tough loss, but you are not alone, even we strangers are holding you up in our prayers. God Bless, and don't be afraid to go to a Counselor Sis. Rev Jim

Very sorry, Anna. I know how it feels. My dad was only 54 when he died. He was my hunting and fishing and shooting friend, the best I ever had. Losing a father is an enormous change for you. I pray for your strength. Mike

Miss Anna,

Condolences to you and your family on the loss of your father. Prayers said too.

Overcoming grief is one of the hardest things we have to do in life.
