May be a lot cheaper to buy a rifle barrel and cut it down. The last Encore muzzleloader pistol barrels that I saw for sale was priced near 400 at one time you could get one at the gun shows for about 150.

A few years back, (2,maybe 3), I bought a 50cal Traditions Trapper flintlock pistol from Cabelas. It is quite a good shooter, but like most off the shelf production line muzzleloaders it needed a little tweeking to get it to where it's expected to be.

After finish hand inletting the barrel channel, and mating the frizzen to the pan I have a one inch at 50 yards from a steady rest gun, which has taken deer to 55 yards using a .490" RB over 40 grs of FFFG main charge, and 2 grs of FFFFG priming in a polished pan.

Traditions has been good to me with accurate, dependable, and reasonably priced muzzleloaders. Own two now, out of the four muzzleloaders I have on hand, and would have no problem getting another.

I believe I paid $300 for the Trapper Pistol, which is less than some barrels go for. Might be worth looking into.
