Sounds like vbulletin isn't up to the needs of this community, then.

yup. been there, done that.

I'm not going to worry about it Tim. I can get where I want to be but it seems to me that it should work like yours does. i.e. click on new posts and get all unread posts; click on the down arrow and get the drop down menu. :\

Maybe one of the Admins or Techs can figure it out.

EDIT: Just tried it on my Win10/Chrome laptop, works the same there too.

I believe the issue is that before we had both a user name and a display name. Now we only have a user name and that IS the display name. BBF was your display name but 47-70 was your username on the other software. Back then it could have been changed by me easily but not so now.

Looking into it I did find a way that I think it can be done but I do not have permission to do so. I think only the tech guys can and I doubt they have time with all the other issues ongoing to figure out how to do it.

Perhaps Jeff can get my permissions changed so I can do it. That way the tech guys would only have to do a change once then I could change it for folks. What Tim changed isn't going to last due to the way this software works. It seems to keep defaulting to the name you had listed as username rather than display name on the other software. At this point I believe only the tech guys have the ability to make such changes tho in trying to sort out a way I did notice that if someone could alter my permissions I should be able to.

This is all clear as milk. Come to the site to discuss firearms, and get lessons on programing and tech support. When will it be as good as before ?

Now every page i go to, whether it's a pm or a post or just to read, it redirects me to a million different pages. I mean goes crazy. I let it stop once and my filter stopped it and said it was an "adult themed" site.

That sounds more like a browser hijack to me, I've had no issues like that here on any of the my 3 machines, what device/OS/browser are you using?

Welp, the site seems to be slowly getting into some semblance of normality. However I find the sites pages to be a bit too, how to put this.....busy looking. Also I still see some of the forums are awol. Reloading for rifles & handguns is still missing as well as the cannon forum.

And for some odd reason I cannot post replies from work. I get a "page not found" when I try to post or reply from work. I can read everything but not post.......irritating. I like to stop in here when I have a break.

Missing forums are on the punch list sticky, read there before posting new issues that may already have been reported. Are you logged on at work? I have no problems posting on a Windows PC and laptop as well as a Chromebook.
