Default Horrendous [strike]Awful[/strike] response times from GBO Forums

Shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday June 5, 2019 the Forums of GBO began to respond extremely slow taking as much as 30 seconds to refresh when a thread or post was initiated, read, or changing threads to read (this post and across all Politics Forum too). This persisted for more than 30 minutes. NSA must be having a ball dissecting the contents of my PC...

I deleted history, cache, passwords, cookies, etc., through CNTRL-SHIFT-DELETE then rebooted. STILL HAPPENING - though at 6:50 a.m. it was lightning fast to make an EDIT.

the situation persists and there is no evidence of anything loading or "waiting".

any explanation?

[LATE NOTE] By 7:10 a.m. the forums had ceased this delay. Hmmmmm…..formatting doesn't apply to the thread title. Go figure.

At 7:20 it's BACK. Yes just GBO Forums so far as I can tell. I really haven't tried another. I am in the throws of posting some thread responses and merging a few threads in which I am opinionated and passionate, so this continued delay is chapping my azz.

I was wondering if it was my machine or everyone else too. Glad you are not seeing what I am experiencing.

I went over to CastBoolits dot com and didn't experience any lag there.

I must have the chair pinching the PC cord, because the lag here persists!!!

There has been an ongoing major service disruption affecting large portions of the internet. I suspect you (or the path your connection takes to the GBO server) are just in the wrong place and are seeing the effects of that outage. Here's a recent map of the disruption:

Probably right. By 7:35 a.m. the lag had disappeared again. I am feeling less stressed. Thanks.

[LATE NOTE] As fast as I say it is OK, it returns. At 7:42 a.m. IT'S BACK!!!!!!!!!

[LATER NOTE] By 7:44 a.m. the lag subsided again. Intermittent is the WORD.

That map looks like someone is messing with Ma Bell....AT&T! East coast , west coast and the big cities in between.

The next time you experience the site being slow, can you try to get us the HAR file from Chrome's dev tools?
This is a link that explains how to do it - https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us...roubleshooting
The file will be big, so you can PM us and we'll provide you an email to get this sent to.
This will help the techs pinpoint the issue.

Sounds like a plan Ed. WILCO...but I hope it does not reoccur, if you know what I mean.
