I said I had had enough but when a yankee starts trying to teach Texas history it's just too much. **** yes, most of the participants that were slaughtered at the Alamo were from other states. Immigration except for a few early illegal settelers started in 1825 and the Battle of the Alamo was fought early in 1836. They really didn't have time to grow a resident army did they? But there were some home grown fighters there that we shouldn't forget. Mexicans fought against Santa Anna too. I wonder how many from other states would stand up and do something like this today? Not many I would bet.
As to the civil war, nearly 90,000 troops from Texas fought in it and Texas was treated just as shabbily as any other southern state that fought by the yankee government and the carpetbaggers that they sent to help. That's a considerable number of people from a young state to go off to war.
I know I would have had as much affect with this as I would have talking to my stump but I feel better now.
