I recently moved to New England, to a small island colonized as a refuge for the religiously persecuted. I put up a Gadsen Flag (there are flags all over this town, to include Betsy Ross, Tree Flag.) Several young men are reroofing a house across the street from mine; they are very slow, spend most of their time on their phones, show up at 9, start work at 10, take long breaks and lunches, start cleaning up at 3, out of there by 4. Their language is obscene and profane ... our houses are very close together, and the windows are open since no one has central AC. I have been told they are representative of a typical new englander young man, which is progressive, mostly democrat, intrigued by socialism.
One of them asks me which state the flag is for. I said it's not, it was a colonial flag. He responded, he thought it was a south carolina flag. I sincerely doubt he knew that the flag was made by a South Carolinian, and most likely had a contemporary misunderstanding. Rather than unpack that with him, I just said, nope, and walked away. They have no grasp of their own history; they welcome being treaded upon. They have no work ethic, no personal discipline, no self-respect or respect for those around them. Like most of their generation the are most likely only motivated to be orderly by the rule of law and fear. And most likely that is how they will assert authority over others. They are a field ripe unto harvest for those with the $ and control to assert socialism over our country.
