Default Ginsberg departure strategy?

Resign now and have nomination battle now while trump is weak or wait until after election when trump is likely reelected and strong?

Unless someone unplugs her life support my bet is they'll wait until after the election. Reasons are: #1. Hoping Trump doesn't get reelected. #2. Hoping to take over the Senate. #3. If he is reelected and Repubs retain the Senate the dims (not a typo!) will scream he is a lame duck and no one should be confirmed until after the 2024 election.

Seems I recall there was a time (2013) when any federal judicial appointment required a 62% margin to complete..tradition you know.. ..But then old Harry Reid decided on the "nuclear option", appointing federal up to but not on to the SCOTUS, with a simple majority.

He was warned not to, that it would come back to bite him, but he did so anyway..

I say, if the opportunity arises, follow Harry's lead and nominate a candidate. You know that with all the hatred ginned up by the Dems over the lat 3 years, they would run roughshod over normal courtesies, if they get the chance.

Just look how crookedly they ran the Mueller report and the more recent impeachment hearings. They are running ragged over normal courtesies and law..

Reid knew that he'd be retiring soon and that the consequences of his actions would be someone else's problem.

Even then, Harry didn't really want to go. He would have rather stayed and made more millions, but alas truth was catching up !

Anyone who thinks a Dummycratic (communist) President would not appoint a justice to the Supreme Court if and when they got the chance and also held the Senate is living in a different world. They would do it even if they only had a week left. There is no courtesy in poly-tics.

That is almost certainly why so many republicans are resigning from congress now. Rats leaving a sinking gravy train.

Ginsberg's strategy is to be carried out of the court in a body bag.

Take a close look at her robes. They're made of black plastic and have a full length zipper.
