Default Rigging the system with faithless electors

Keep an eye on the Supreme Court faithless electors case. Can you have faith in our presidential election system? Much depends on that decision.

If the "Supremes" rule each individual elector at the electoral college can vote as they please and are not bound by the votes cast by their states then what? Same as it has always been?

All of my favorite creatures have white bottoms.

It's interesting more because of legal but nontraditional voting by electors. Tradition is that electors vote according to popular vote. In 2016 several ignored populsr vote and voted as they pleased because they didn't like the popular vote. It's important because electors can be appointed to negate popular vote. What will supremes do? Probably not much. Then watch how electors vote in 2020.

Bottom line is that electoral college may be abolished as dems wish, but not with formal abolition but by de facto abolition.

I would be in favor of getting rid of the electoral college as such. Continue to elect the President according to the electoral votes from each state where the winner of the state gets all the electoral votes. What is the point of having electors who vote any way they please? Oh I know--just another way that Dummycratics can try to rig an election.

" What is the point of having electors who vote any way they please? "

That is what the founders wanted. They didn't trust the average landowning white men.

They did give it the old college try, but tyrants will always find a way of gaining power. The result is that the constitution and bill of rights and a system of checks and balances is now worthless. We have government by anarchy now.
