Default Josh McDaniel

I sold a Lyman Trade Rifle to Josh McDaniel of Rutledge TN. He received the rifle, I never received payment he claims to have sent and have had no response from him in over 2 weeks when he said he'd send payment again. Giving the guy a chance to either make good on paying or send the rifle back before it gets entered as stolen, not that I'd ever see it again, but about all I can do. Hoping the guy has good reason for what he's doing and it'll get resolved.

My wife got ahold of his on FB and he's been in contact again. Sometimes just need to get the wifes involved, they make things happen. Hoping this will work out and not put a bad mark on a new member.

Not trying to be a trouble maker, BUT, why would you send a rifle without getting the payment first?

Has to be a certain amount of trust by both parties in any/all transactions where the participants donít personally know each other. Iíve sent numerous items as soon as the cyber-deal was made.

+1 with bubba.50. I've sent stuff as soon as the deal was made and have had most of the folks here that I bought from do the same for me. Never for a lot of money, but never a problem. Says something pretty positive about the folks on this forum.

Folks on this forum are aware that the rule of thumb and GBO standard is: Money passes before the merchandise is shipped.

This is an OLD thread...

It is at the election of the seller, when the merchandise ships, before or after funds received.
I, myself, have sent stuff to buyer when I felt confident of their integrity.
As I have also had an item's tracking numbers received before I made it to the P.O. for a M.O.
This forum has the best folks in it's attendance.
WORD:
A rapport needs to be established between buyer and seller nonetheless to solidify transaction and it's expectations by each party.

Can't we all just get along?
... of course we can!

I agree with those that say trust is needed. I too have sent merchandise, before the funds were received. But that was to people on here that I've "known" for years, not to someone that I don't know. But never a firearm, whether a Black powder rifle or especially a modern firearm. There are other things at stake here, other than money.
