I believe the biggest issue with the H&R .243s has been using bullets too 'heavy/long' for the twist which wont stabilize well thus are not as accurate as the lighter/shorter bullets. This was not just an H&R issue but plagued the .243 in other brands as well. So, dont buy the heaviest bullet loads to give it a go.
