I see something that I would have did differently even though it probably matter.
I would have made the seams of the side boards of the lamination overlap so the two seams didn't meet. To me it would seem be stronger. I know you always have good a reasonable reasons for doing everything, so...
I saw that too, but then I remember he had deliberately left them in three pieces for much of the early work.
If he'd lapped them the whole cheek would have been one piece from the beginning.
