I think it is high time the government hire private industry to develop our space program. Elon Musk or not, I don't know..but government is very clumsy and unwieldy at doing certain things.
I know little about space technology, but I see the government struggle off and on for 50 years..both great successes and great failures.

I have little doubt that capitalist industry works more efficiently than government ever can. It seems private industry started only a very few years ago, and already they are launching from barges..sending payloads....and recovering the space vehicle, to refurbish and re-use..

Government by itself has never accomplished that, so far as I know.

For anybody who thinks government can outdo private industry...check out the Post Office, the IRS and the DOT !
