Default Science fiction has warned us.

Much of science fiction, when dealing with the nastiness of mankind has come true.
This is not hard to believe.

Time travel Sci-Fi books and movies are often the ones who support what you posted as being correct.
Going back in time to correct a certain event hoping for a paradox that will turn out with positive results.
But it's still like tossing the dice. And it usually only makes things worse.

In doing what they do, there is a huge possibility that the time travelers may cease to exist, both past
and presentor in the future. But wouldn't that actually make things the way they always were? And no
one living in that time would know that anything had happened. So it may have already happened and
we wouldn't know it.

Take Hitler for instance. What if the travelers decided to go back in time and make sure he died in WWI.
Or as only a starving artist in Austria? What would the world look like today? A lot of people we now know
would have never been born. And a lot we don't know would have.

A good Sci-Fi novel about something like this is " The guns of the South " by Larry Turtledove. Where S.
African Apartheid developed time travel and and knew what was going to be happening today. So they
went back and armed the Confederacy with AK47s. Needless to sa the Union lost the war. And Lincoln
was charged with being a war criminal.

But what happens after that is interesting.

It is true that history abounds with authoritian government. And we do seem to be headed that way as the article says as well as uselessness of humans. BUT... I'll bet some or, perhaps, many here use the automatic checkout at the store and pump their own gas and buy from Amazon even though those things eliminate the jobs of fellow human beings. Think about it...

Let the Androids show up and they eventually will. Just like Sci-Fi predicted they will. If they are self replicating, self aware. They would no longer have no use for us, or our problems.

You know what? I don't see any reason for them to even look human. I see no reason for them to need to be.
Unless one was trying to fool one of us playing on our human emotions.
Ex Machina, who out smarted everyone.

A leading scientist, and I did not save the link, said self-aware, or truly intelligent robots will never exist as it is impossible. They are only as good as their programs and programs wear out.
Therein is the danger, when a program goes awry and it is too late to stop what havoc that causes or people who know how to do what is now done by computers are not around to keep things going.

I use auto check-out as I shop often late at night and now some only have the auto ones going BUT they do take cash and there is always several people around to fix screw-ups which seems weird as the person who watches the check outs does at times do for the people who ask them to.
Why not have here at a check out like they used to.

Self service gasoline, try finding a station with an attendant . If you know the town well there are a few but darn few.
Amazon, you can count the times on two hands come up with change.
Sadly on-line places that carry stuff you cannot get locally are being sucked up by Amazon, doing it without them , which used to be easy, is getting harder.

Folks who think they are only 20 years away don't know what they are talking about. Something that can emulate a human being?
Ain't gonna happen not for a very long time.
