Default Holiweird Sci-Fi sure likes bullet pullers

I've spotted kinetic bullet pullers in a few sci-fi movies and TV shows over the years. The holiweird types seem to love them...

What do they pass the bullet pullers off as ?

.

"Politically correct" language, is really Orwellian 'newspeak'. (Michael Cutler)

In one of the robocrap movies one was used as a hammer, upside down of course. I've seen them laying around in a few other shows but Bablon 5 comes to mind. I know there were others but I can't remember where I saw them...

The one I have is green plastic so I can't see how it could be used as a real hammer. I only hit a wooden
block with it to pull a bullet. I'm sure it wouldn't hold up to a 10 penny nail.

Geezer, maybe they use them as a safety concern? Actors may not know how to use a real metal hammer lol.
They might break a fingernail or something. Or they may use them so they don't damage what they are
beating on. I can ask my sister I'm sure she would know, she's been around Hollywood for 25 years.
