Do you ever feel like you'd rather see one of these than a regular doctor? They don't seem to have that complex like some doctors do.

My wife is a nurse and she says you’re much better off with a nurse practitioner than a doctor because they’ll actually listen to you instead of just thinking ahead to that next 15 minute appointment.

Nurse Practitioners are actually better than most doctors. In fact, I personally have had better sucess with FEMALE doctors than the guy doctors.

My Primary Dr is female, and like bubba.50s wife said, more understanding, caring and compassionate, as is the Specialist(yes, another female Dr) helping me dump this Superbug. (Sorry, sort of paraphrased there)

Anyway, I dont feel like little more than his next Mercedes payment when I see the female Drs, and they do better!!!!

Argent: that jerk who shows up for 10 minutes and then turns it over to them anyway, has had four years of college and usually pre-med programs not bs social work baloney, plus his four years of medical school that just anybody can't get into, as well as his internship, his residency and his years of experience. That earns him the right, and the authority to listen to the other staff for 10 minutes and make the decision to turn it over to them. No matter what, it takes a jerk like that to pronounce ya dead and ya dang well better hope he does it afterwards, if ya know what I mean....... Just sayin'

Two doctors like your referring to in my family, my nephew and a second cousin. They have helped me before with just a phone call so I'm aware of what your saying. But one lives in Boston and the other one in CA or
they would see me if I were in either place. Both of them have a very high regard for a CNP. They told me
to go see a CNP they knew of because the doctor i was being sent to was from Guatemala, they called him, then called me back and said that doctor couldn't tie his shoe laces.

Just because they are a doctor from a foreign country working here doesn't mean they know as much as
an American doctor. Doctors from Central America? If they are so great, then why do all these migrant
invaders have diseases and ailments that America doesent, or once didn't before they showed up.

Sometimes those dang Nurses make you strip down to your skinnies! There were two of them standing there
in that room. One a CNP the other an RN, I called them the Nursey twins lol. They laughed and at least they have a sense of humour. They came back and said don't worry we've seen it before. Doctors don't.

My Primary is a male NP. Better than most DR's I've had.but not as good or thorough as the Female NP's. I think in general,Women make better care givers, and Men make better surgeons.

Unfortunately it’s not always the doctor’s fault for being non-sociable & rushed I’m an RN and the organization I used to work for would only allow 10 minutes per scheduled office visit (primary care), then would sometimes double book certain appointments such as Med checks and follow ups. It’s the administrators and accountants pushing quantity vs quality.

My girlfriend is an RN who is working on her master's degree to become a Nurse Practitioner. I trust her medical opinions way more than my primary care doctor's opinions.

My NP was way better than my doctor that I have now at the VA both female. The NP spent way more time checking me over than the Doctor that I have now. She was very pleasant and easy to talk to.

My daughter is an NP, but I try and not let her treat me...she's a psych nurse. She was telling me that they are trying to get them to take the same courses the docs do, for less pay of course.
