Default Shingles vaccine

Anyone get the Shingles vaccine? There appear to be 2 types, what one did you get?

Anyone get the shingles before or after getting the vaccine?

Didn't know there were two types so have no clue which kind I got. I got it after Faye got shingles and I saw how much pain it was for her. I can tell ya after watching her suffer thru it is is something ya sure don't want.

I'm glad someone brought this up, at the last docs visit he asked if I wanted it, don't know enough to make an informed decision, are there any side effects to it that anyone know? other than "if you're allergic to it".

"People in Arizona carry guns," said Detective David Ramer, a Chandler police spokesman. You better be careful about who you are picking on...

I had no side effects and I can sure tell ya having the shingles is a serious situation, not one ya want.

My wife too had shingles years ago..and the guys are not exaggerating the pain involved, so I have the original shingles shot. There is the original shingles shot..and there is a new, more effective shingles shot. Both my civilian doctor and the VA says I should get the new shot..but neither seem to have any on hand.

Mom got the shingles shot about 17-18 years ago. Then has has the shingles twice although both cases were very mild. Didn't know you could get shingles twice but she had an outbreak a couple years after the shot and 4-5 years ago.

I had shingles, NOT for sissies, have had several minor outbreaks since the first oh my god let it end, The meds made for quite a colorful recovery though, May cause hallucinations..... big understatement !! my doc said the vaccine would not be of much help after and now I have heard they have found it to cause the out break ??? not sure.

Two vaccines for shingles Zostavax (2006) and Shingrix (2017) which is given in 2 doses 6 months apart. It was in short supply it might be better now.

Shingrix is more than 90% effective.

I had a bout with shingles in 1982, don't want to ever do that again! Got the once and done vaccination several years ago, wife got the 2-shot version, no side effects.
