I’ve been hunting in the rice and bean fields of north Louisiana for almost 30 years. I’ve had several 3.5” guns but I always ended up selling them. In 2006, I was in a horrible car wreck, broke my spine. Most people that have the injury I did end up paraplegic. By God’s Grace, I am not. Big surgery, etc. needless to say I have had “back issues” ever since. For that reason, I now mostly shoot 3” 20 gauges. Not because of the recoil, but because of the lighter weight of the gun and a couple boxes of shells in my blind bag walking out to the blind. I’ve killed lots of geese with 3” #2s, sometimes hevi-shot. Opening weekend I shoot my Dad’s old Rem 58 in his honor because he loved duck hunting so much. It’s a 2 3/4, it’s plenty.
