Default .30 Reece.. MGM barrel?

Well..
I can't stop thinking about the .30 Reece.
I'm thinking it would be great to play with.
And just about perfect for groundhogs and Armadillos around the farm.
Possible Deer hunting too.
Under a 100 yards.. maybe?
MGM offers a barrel. Thinking of a 11" bull barrel.
With iron's.
Any of you guys have anything to say about it?

an interesting round using 38 Special brass
Great plinker, I'd suppose
A 30 Herrett barrel is probably more easily acquired
but may be a bit more energy than your intent.

The .30Reece is loaded to a tad higher pressure than most 32/20 published data, so on average yields about 100-150fps more speed than most 32/20 loads...however, in older Speer manuals (i think it was Speer #11) there was some published 32/20 +P loads for use in contenders that is darn close to .30reece power levels.

I've had 3 barrels in .30reece so far; only have a 16" carbine at the moment. Its pretty agreeable to load for, and pleasant to shoot. .38spl brass usually forms out a few thousandths short, which works for me...i hate trimming.

Not sure if Carson is still around, i havent spoken with him in a few years...he is a likeable fellow. I used to have some pix he emailed me of some nice deer he took with the caliber; i have shot a few with my barrels (V-Max, and the Barnes TTSX), and it seems to kill 'em well enough.

Load data posted below....

G~
