After more searching I see that The 22 cal Heritage is indeed made by the parent company Taurus Mfg. plant in Fla.

I don't think of myself as a staunch Republican or Democrat.
I am a Christian and a Conservative...........In that order!

I bought a 22lr 22 mag. last year . The 22mag. cycles and locks up good but the 22 lr doesn't line up to lock every so many cycles . Calling heritage is a joke. I bought it from academy and didn't find this out till I got home and tried to cycle it . They refused to take it back after only an hour from sale and basically said you should all but shoot a gun in store before purchasing from them . Needless to say I won't walk in an academy anymore .

My Heritage came from Academy during that Christmas sale for $100. It is a six and a half inch plain model with bowling ball grips. I blocked off the safety and only load 5 rounds in it. It seems to shoot as good as my Ruger single six and if I accidentally dropped it in the river I don't believe I will dive in after it. It seems to be a good cheap gun.
