Default Reaming a cylinder?

I just got an extra cylinder for my Hi Standard Sentinel revolver to ream to .22 mag. And have made an offer on a reamer. I'm working on the assumption that I can ream it by hand. Is that a good assumption? If not I'll get a machinist friend to do it, but I'd rather do it myself if I can. What do I need to know to do this job? Thanks in advance. gene
