You can own a 22mag rifle and hunt varmit & hogs and turkey on private property with it just not legal for deer hunting.

So, you can have a 22 mag pistol as well?
I ask as I know a person who has one, in very good condition, who might be interested in
parting with it.

Yes in Florida you can own a pistol or revolver. Caliber does not matter. So yes 22 mag is legal.
