Default Sign Sauer P238...anyone like or dislike?

Curious about this little gun...sounds nice in some reviews I listened to. Anyone here have one, any opinions or thoughts appreciated..

I have had my P238 for several years and have carried it concealed. It has accuracy that I find to far surpass what I have seen in similar sized 380s, as well as the refinement that one would expect from a pistol of this price. I have shot my son's LCP Ruger and it is a horror to shoot because it left my hand bleeding from the pocket clip attached to it, that and the snappy recoil which you won't experience from the Sig. My other son set a 6" metal plate up at somewhere over 20 yds and had me shoot my sig at it and I hit it off hand the first three shots. If the P238 lacks anything, it would be more power but that would only come in the form of the 9mm P938 which is a larger version of the same pistol. I opted for the 380APC because it was easier to conceal, and though the 380 might seem anemic I wouldn't want to get shot with it. JMO, whatever it's worth.

Great guns if you're ok with a single action. I have the P238 and P938. I prefer shooting them with the extended mags for the extra grip.

I have a sig P238 and agree with the above statements. Mine has been dead reliable with all ammo from ball to HPs. Mine came with the night sights and there easy to see. Unlike some pocket pistols sights. Personally I prefer 1911 style pistol. I have carried them most of my life.

My wife has a 238, 938, and she recently bought a 365.

Of the three the only complaint to be had is the extrme difficulty of loading the doublestack 365 magazine. Sig Sauer had no meaningful solution, only to leave the mags full a few weeks then cycle and reload about 150 times and the spring should allow easier loading..... it didnt. An aftermarket load assist device helped.

On the other hand, all three are delightfully accurate, as well as being very dependable in the ways a self defense gun needs to be. She loves them, and especially the ability to rack the slide whenever necesary.

As the saying goes, "You have to give uo something to get something", but the little Sigs actually put it in a more than acceptable balance.

I full time carry the 238 in front pocket in an Uncle Mikes size 4 holster. Have carried it for years. Conceals easily. Gun shows no wear, functions 100%. Heavy trigger is fine since I feel that in a carry gun this is preferred due to the stress factor when firing is required. Used several carry guns including the J frame in years past. Settled on the Sig and considered all else as runners up.
