Default SAVAGE 30-30/20 GAUGE

I just found a Savage 30-30/20 gauge. This thing is in great shape. Told the guy I would trade him my H&R single shot 450 Marlin even up for it. He said he could do that. Do you guys think this is a good trade. I seen a few around around gun shops for 300.00 to 350.00

Bigborefan,
Dollar wise, it's a good trade. Practical wise, it's a good trade. But it's not a "Bigbore"! :?

You're right Shorty, but I getting a 45-70 and a 44 barrel for one of my H&R recievers and plan on installing the FP peep sight and a Williams front site. I also have another 44 mag, so both of them will be reamed to 445 Supermag. So I will still have a few big bores.

I just took a look at one of my 20 ga slugs and I think that qualifies as big bore. Put one in a 6in aspen one time and tore the whole back of the tree. I wouldn't want to be hit by one. I traded my 30/30 over 20 off years ago but still have a 24 Camper in 22 and one in 222/20 ga. I would say you made a very good deal.

I have two others, a 22/410 and a 22/20. I shot a doe with the 20 gauge years ago. Man it blowed a big hole.

I know several people that have them. They carry them in their planes for survival guns. The 30-30 will kill a Moose, if you get real close and place the shot well. The 20ga will kill rabbits, grouse, ducks, geese, or crains (remember this is survival). The 20ga also works well for bear protection.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

UPDATE. I kept the H&R 450 Marlin and weaseled the 30-30/20 gauge out of him for 160.00 I think I did pretty good. Some days I do get a break. :-D
