I think I'd buy a Contender rifle in 7mmTCU.
And a good Leupold scope.

Heck with 3 grand. I'd call up CPA in Pennsylvania and have them build me one of their stunning rifles with 3 barrels. 32-20, 30-30, and either 32-40 or 22 rimfire. That ought to eat up the better portion of 6 grand easy. Not an offhand rifle but benchrest style. Every so often I go to their websight, pain in the butt to have to clean the drool off the keyboard. Shiloh Sharps 1894 in 45/120. But with the wood and german silver forearm cap I'd want on it I'd have to break out another $1000.

I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.

I saw that rifle on Guns America yesterday while I was fishing around looking at single shot rifles. I would not mind a 1885 Winchester carbine mod. in say maybe a 32-40 that would be big enough to kill deer with.
I have a question I see on Mountain men that the lion hunter Rich uses a single shot, wonder what caliber it is, from the bullet pouch on the stock I would guess something between 243 and 30-06 it looks like a 1885 I know Winchester, Browning and Uberti makes them.
