The one and only barrel that I really wont for my TCR to fill out my 16 barrel collection is a 7x57 mouser 24 inch med. or rifle conture. I have seen 2 of them but always too late. Jed does nothing smaller than 338 and one other rebore wonted 7 hundred I would like one but not that much. I can load my 7 Mag. to 7x57 ballistics and have done so but just not the same much like riding a Honda when you wish it was a Harley Smile

I have a no 1 international/manlicher, Ruger bolt actions, and tc encores, and a contender currently... All rifle lengths... My first tool was a Stevens/savage single shot 20 gauge that I ate very well from...

I once owned a Ruger number 1 international 7x57 to pretty to hunt with and not crazy about the short barrel, sold it and about 3 years ago I picked up a number 1 7x57 light sporter it was pretty, killed one deer with it but sold it. at one time I had 6 number ones in my collection the best one was a tack driver in 1B 7 Remington mag.

Had a 1v in 7 mag. Darned thing was so pretty I had to sell it. I fell 10 feet out of a tree and cradled that thing to protect it. Landed on my back but hey that pretty rifle was just fine...

Also Deacon Im starting to appreciate the short barrels. Before I wanted every foot per second I could get. Now I am interested in ease of handling and willing to give up speed for less weight on the end.

I have the H&R SS in 223 and 22 hornet and like them both very much, I do have a rem 700 BDL in 22-250 that I have a SS adapter installed into.
